Front End Capstone
Potters have no consistent way to track glaze results. We use phone cameras, post it notes, scraps of paper, and our unreliable memories. This app is designed to allow potters to document the process of each pot with special focus on glaze details and before/after photos. Potters can create, view, edit, and delete pots as well as view and search pots made by other artists.
Kandy Korner
An independent class project. We were tasked to create a React app to assist Houchen's Kandy Korner with tracking it's inventory. This required the ability to create, edit, and delete products as well as sort products by both category and locations sold.
Nutshell
Group project tasked to create a single page app with vanilla javascript. Its purpose was to allow users to create, edit, and delete tasks, news articles, and events, as well as message other users. I was responsible for the events section but the project encouraged much collaboration.
About Me
After spending many years passionately working as a social worker and counselor to advocate and provide services for the most vulnerable populations in our society, I took time off to raise my children. During that time, I added to my creative skills by opening a small pottery studio in my home. Now that I am ready to return to the workforce, I decided to take my creative skills and combine them with my people skills and problem solving skills. Nashville Software School Full Stack Web Development 6 month boot camp seemed like the perfect way to blend all of my strengths.
In September when I finish the program, I will have gained skills and experience in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React.js, and Python/Django through team and individual challenges. I look forward to continuing to expand my new skills while working to solve problems in creative ways. Waking up every morning to new challenges and continued learning is such an exciting way to start my new career path while utilizing the skills I've developed thus far in my life.
